The physical therapists (PTs) at Personalized Orthopedics of the Palm Beaches are licensed and certified healthcare professionals in the specialty of orthopedics. Throughout the whole course of our patient’s care, our PT’s work closely with our orthopedic physicians, before and after surgery, with the main goal of improving a patient’s overall quality of life, by reconditioning their bodies, to be healthier, function and move better, and relieve pain. Most importantly, as our PT’s are trained in the field of orthopedics, they are knowledgeable on the anatomy of the musculoskeletal system, and how the body moves (kinesiology), an invaluable skill they possess, giving them the advantage, to help patients get their lives back.

Steven L. Bernstein PT, OMT
Director of Physical Therapy
Steven Bernstein Graduated from Florida International University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. He later completed four years of residency training in Manual Therapy with the Ola Grimsby Institute. Steve has been a practicing orthopedic therapist for over sixteen years in Palm Beach County.
In addition to clinical practice, Mr. Bernstein has served as an adjunct professor at the university level, instructed continuing education classes to his peers for six years, and supervised physical therapy students as a clinical instructor for ten years.
Mr. Bernstein is native to South Florida and enjoys all of its outdoor activities. He is a competitive amateur triathlete, who enjoys the competition of the sport and the challenge it provides.
Rettig Talbot, PT
Rettig (Rett) Talbot is a Physical Therapist, Board Certified in Sports Physical Therapy. He received his Master of Science in PT from The University of Indianapolis in 1984. His undergraduate degree is from Indiana University in area of Health, Safety and Athletic Training. He gained board certified status from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 1990 and again in 2000. He is also certified as an Athletic Trainer and a Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Rett volunteers time to the USA Hockey Disabled Hockey program. He is the team trainer and sports physical therapist for USA National Sled Hockey (Para Ice Hockey) Development Team. He has served the program since 2011.
With more than 30 years of clinical and leadership experience, he prefers working with the rehabilitation of the surgically repaired knee and shoulder as well as conservative management and progression of injuries to the throwing shoulder, and the golfer. He has had the opportunity to treat the gamut of patient-athletes – from those who make a living at their sport, to high school and college student-athletes trying to return from injury, and the athletes of all ages who enjoy sport for health and recreation.
Rett was born and raised in Delray Beach and continues to call that home. Outside of the office he enjoys golf and cycling. He has been involved with The Ride to Cure T1D cycling program of JDRF as rider and coach and serves on the Leadership Board of the Arthritis Foundation of Palm Beach County.
Rita Zimmermann, LPTA/CLT
Rita received her Associates of Applied Science with Honors in Physical Therapy from Union College, New Jersey, in 1985.For over 30 years she has worked extensively with orthopedic, geriatric, physically disabled, and pediatric patients in a variety of settings, including outpatient rehabilitation, scholastic, and the home health setting. She maintains a compassionate concern for people, and a desire to use her skills to enhance patient well-being. Rita attended the Academy of Lymphatic Studies in March of 2006 and received her certification as a Manual Lymphatic Therapist. In June of 2018, completed the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) program for Personal Fitness and received her certification as a Personal Trainer. Her most rewarding experience has been raising her three children and recently became the Grandmother of twin boys. Faith is a central part of her life as she serves as a volunteer at her Church with children of elementary school age. During her free time, her passions include include scuba diving, photography, traveling, cycling, and spending time at the beach.
Rocco Ferraiolo PTA, NASM-CPT, SPARQ certified
Rocco received his degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2004 from South University. He has worked in Palm Beach County since graduation, treating a wide variety of orthopedic patients in the outpatient setting. Prior to achieving his physical therapy degree, Rocco was operations manager and personal training director from 2000-2003 at a local fitness facility. He earned numerous personal training certifications for the senior community, weekend warriors, and high-level athletes. Rocco has integrated his physical therapy background into a comprehensive program that combines therapy, training, and conditioning to maximize a patient’s outcome. In his spare time, Rocco enjoys training (himself), participating in competitive recreational sports, and spending time with family and friends.
