About / My Philosophy
Dr. Alexandra Adelman is a dual board-certified Family Medicine and Sports Medicine physician (CAQSM) with advanced expertise in interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound. A South Florida native, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Movement Science from the University of Michigan before obtaining her medical degree from Ben-Gurion University. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at the University of Connecticut, followed by a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Adelman has cared for athletes at the highest levels of competition, serving as team physician for Division I programs and professional soccer and AHL hockey teams. She has provided medical coverage for premier events including the World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, World Rugby Championship, rodeo competitions, Ironman Arizona, and the Boston Marathon. Her clinical expertise includes acute injury management, return-to-play decision-making, and performance optimization.
Beyond elite athletics, Dr. Adelman is deeply committed to helping individuals with arthritis and degenerative joint conditions preserve mobility, independence, and an active lifestyle. She specializes in comprehensive, non-surgical management of osteoarthritis and other chronic musculoskeletal conditions, utilizing ultrasound-guided injections, regenerative medicine, and biologic therapies including Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to restore function and reduce pain.
What truly distinguishes Dr. Adelman’s approach is her commitment to individualized, unrushed care. She believes exceptional outcomes begin with listening. Each patient receives her full attention, a thorough evaluation, and a thoughtfully designed treatment plan tailored to their goals and lifestyle. Rather than a one-size-fits-all or volume-driven approach, she prioritizes meaningful time with her patients to ensure they feel heard, understood, and confident in their care plan.
An active member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) ), Dr. Adelman has presented research at national conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. She is the recipient of the O’Donoghue Award from the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and remains committed to advancing sports medicine through innovation, leadership, and education.
Outside of medicine, she cherishes time with her husband, daughter, and two dogs—whether traveling, hiking, or enjoying time together on the ski slopes. Her goal is to help patients continue doing the activities they love, whether competitive sport, recreational fitness, or simply maintaining mobility for everyday life. She provides compassionate, elite-level care that prioritizes effective, non-surgical solutions whenever possible.
