Patient Resources
Whether you are coming to Personalized Orthopedics of the Palm Beaches for the first time or you have been with us for years, this section gathers what you need in one place. You will find how to prepare for a visit, how insurance and billing work, the forms and guides you can download, answers to common questions and links to pay a bill or use the patient portal. If you cannot find what you are looking for, call our office and our team will help.
New patients
Most new patients schedule by calling our office. On that call our team matches you with the right specialist, checks your insurance and tells you whether your plan needs a referral. Our New Patient Information page explains what to bring, how check-in works and what happens at your first visit, from your history and exam to on-site X-rays when they are needed and a plan you understand before you leave.
Insurance and billing
POPB accepts Medicare, most commercial PPO plans and workers' compensation. If you have an HMO or managed-care plan, the referral from your primary care physician must be in our office before your visit. Co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles are due at the time of your visit. Our Insurance and Billing page covers what is usually covered, what is usually not, how workers' compensation claims are handled and who to ask about a bill.
Forms and guides
You can download forms, such as our medical records release, along with guides our surgeons give patients before and after joint replacement and shoulder surgery. Printing and reading them ahead of time can make your visit or surgery go more smoothly.
Frequently asked questions
Our FAQ page answers the questions we hear most often: whether you need a referral, which insurance plans we accept, what can be done in our office, whether physical therapy is available on site and what to do if you have an urgent problem after hours.
Pay your bill and use the patient portal
You can pay a balance online through our secure bill pay page, or pay in the office with cash, a check, Visa or MasterCard. The patient portal gives you a secure way to stay connected with our office between visits. Depending on your account, you may be able to send messages, review appointment details and complete paperwork there. Ask our front desk for an invitation if you do not have access yet.
Care beyond the visit
Many of the services you may need are under one roof: imaging such as X-ray and MRI, an in-office procedure room, and physical and hand therapy that share your chart with your physician. When your plan includes therapy, you can usually schedule it before you leave. For a life-threatening emergency, call 911. For urgent needs after hours, established patients can call our main number to reach our answering service.
