About Dr. Wolfson
Dr. Wolfson grew up on Long Island, New York, and graduated with high honors from the University of Miami with a bachelor's degree in neurobiology. He earned his medical degree at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and completed a five-year orthopaedic surgery residency at Boston University Medical Center.
He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Miami, training in complex knee and shoulder procedures with a focus on minimally invasive and arthroscopic techniques, as well as shoulder replacement and reconstruction surgery. During that year he served as co-team physician for University of Miami athletics and the Miami Marlins.
Dr. Wolfson is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
Approach to care
Dr. Wolfson cares for athletes from adolescence through adulthood, from the weekend warrior to high school, college and professional competitors. He takes a comprehensive approach, using physical therapy and conservative management to explore every alternative before surgery is considered.
He has a special interest in shoulder replacement and arthroplasty, both reverse and anatomic, and in all-inside ACL reconstruction with a quadriceps tendon autograft. His clinical interests include sports-related injuries of every kind (such as pickleball, tennis and golf injuries), Achilles tendon injuries, knee ligament injuries, cartilage preservation and restoration, meniscus injuries, patellar instability, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder instability and labral tears, pectoralis and distal biceps tendon ruptures, shoulder arthritis and elbow injuries. He is also trained in joint replacement and fracture care.
He has been recognized year after year as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor and as a Top Doctor by Palm Beach Illustrated and the Boca Raton Observer.
